Exodus 32:2-4
2So Aaron said to them, “Take off the arings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” 3So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. 4 bAnd he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden ▼▼Hebrew cast metal; also verse 8
calf. And they said, d“These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!” Exodus 32:21
21And Moses said to Aaron, e“What did this people do to you that you have brought such a great sin upon them?”Deuteronomy 9:19-20
19For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure that the Lord bore against you, so that he was ready to destroy you. fBut the Lord listened to me that time also. 20And the Lord was so angry with Aaron that he was ready to destroy him. And I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.1 Samuel 23:16
16And Jonathan, Saul’s son, rose and went to David at Horesh, and strengthened his hand in God.2 Samuel 11:27
27And when the mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and gshe became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord.2 Samuel 12:7-14
7Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, h‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul. 8And I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your arms and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were too little, I would add to you as much more. 9 iWhy have you despised the word of the Lord, jto do what is evil in his sight? kYou have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and lhave taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’ 11Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house. And I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. 12For you did it secretly, mbut I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.’” 13 nDavid said to Nathan, o“I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, p“The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. 14Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly qscorned the Lord, ▼ the child who is born to you shall die.”Job 4:3-4
3Behold, you have instructed many,and you have sstrengthened the weak hands.
4Your words have upheld him who was stumbling,
and you have tmade firm the feeble knees.
